Use of Generative AI in Trans. AMMM Manuscript Preparation
Transactions on AMMM permits the use of generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) to support manuscript preparation under the following conditions:
Permitted Use
Authors may use generative AI tools for i) language editing (grammar, spelling, style), ii) improving clarity, structure, or formatting, iii) supporting literature review or brainstorming
Conditions and Responsibilities
Transparency: If AI tools were used for tasks beyond minor language correction, such as generating text, suggesting argumentation structures, or summarizing literature, this must be disclosed in the manuscript (e.g., in the acknowledgments or a dedicated footnote). ➤ No disclosure is required when AI is used exclusively for grammar, spelling, or typographic corrections.
Accountability: All authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the content, including any parts generated or assisted by AI.
Verification: Authors must carefully review, fact-check, and revise any AI-generated content. AI must not be used to create unverified information, references, or data.
Authorship: Generative AI tools may not be listed as authors or co-authors. Only individuals who meet authorship criteria (as defined by ICMJE or equivalent standards) may be credited.
Prohibited Use
The use of AI to fabricate data, generate references, or produce entire manuscripts without meaningful human oversight is strictly prohibited. AI tools may not be used in a way that circumvents peer review or compromises scholarly integrity.
Recommended Disclosure Statement
If applicable, authors should include a statement such as:
“This manuscript was prepared with the assistance of a generative AI tool (e.g., ChatGPT, OpenAI) for the purposes of improving clarity and structure. All content has been reviewed and approved by the authors, who bear full responsibility for the final version.”
